 Dementia and memory loss can be devastating to an individual who was previously independent and fully functional.  It can be caused by Alzheimer's, Parkinsons, stroke, brain pathology, aging process, and unfortunately in a lot of cases, the etiology is multifactorial or unknown.  Some symptoms include difficulty organizing plans, carrying out tasks, trouble finding words, and mood changes.  These symptoms can sometimes lead to depression/anxiety and paranoia and this makes it difficult for the family to help these individuals.  With MeRT, at Making It Possible, we have seen our patients with dementia and memory loss have improved cognitive function and ability to live more autonomously.
